Abstract

The aim of this study was to identify the different types of violent behavior occurring in the structure of clubs and to analyze whether there are differences according to gender and the different types of social agents involved in their organization (athletes, coaches and family). The design was non-experimental, quantitative, cross-sectional and comparative. The sample consisted of 692 participants, distributed in three groups: athletes (483), coaches (50) and family (159). An instrument adapted for the sports population was used. The results show the existence of statistically significant differences in the perception of violence experienced in the two evaluated conditions: gender and type of social agent. In conclusion, the need for clubs to guarantee an environment of well-being and safety for the practice of sport and to have diagnostic instruments to identify violence in their organization is emphasized.
