Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationships among self-efficacy, coaches’ perception of efficacy and teammate’s perception of efficacy regarding team cohesion. The sample comprised 66 players recruited from four semi-professional football teams. Results showed that coaches` perception of efficacy have a greater relationship with task cohesion, whereas teammates` perception of efficacy is associated with social cohesion. Finally, we suggest that teammates or coaches perception of efficacy are positively associated with cohesiveness, emphasizing the recognition by coach and group of the importance of every player and the
role they are playing.
