Prevalence, characteristics and factors associated with sports injuries in brazilian jiu-jitsu athletes
Abstract
Resultados: In total, 403 injuries were reported. Most of the athletes participating in this research are at the beginner level, with the blue belt having the largest sample size (43.15%). The highest concentration of athletes in this research is in the age range of 18 to 28 years (50.68%), which is also the range that concentrates the highest number of injuries (53.35%). In addition, it was observed that most athletes train between 2 and 6 hours per week (65%), with this group being the most affected by injuries (246 in total). Overall, the most common injuries occurred on the lower limbs. The knee was the most affected area and finger dislocation was the most frequent injury. The greater the weekly training hour load, the lower the risk of injury, as well as the older the athlete's age, the greater the frequency of injuries. The injuries occurred, in large part, during training (81.5%), most of which were of a serious nature.
