Evaluation of two prophylactic physical activity programs

Abstract

According to the Mexican Ministry of Health, for the integral management of obesity must install a program of physical activity in each health center. Some of these programs have implemented Prophylactic Physical Activity, and for these reason is necessary assessment processes to identify its impact. This research evaluated the SOHDI and Enlace programs in a Unidad Médico Familiar of Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social. The investigation was carried out according to the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process and Products). We proceeded with a content analysis of official documents, preparation of checklists and questionnaires, for which we involved a total of 18 users that come to one of the two programs and 7 service providers of both programs. The results showed problems with the Enlace program and better development of SODHI program , was identified in both programs a decreased achievement in disease control in patients and poor adherence to the prophylactic activity. The proposals were formulated based on the results and about various psychological theoretical models of participation in physical activity.
