Abstract

This work focuses on analyzing the importance from the norm theory (Kahneman and Miller, 1986), and the theory of planed behavior (Ajzen, 1991, 1992) in the explanation of sport behavior in the context of decision making such as a penalty kick in soccer. Specifically, it analyzes trends in action with the First Division professional goalkeepers involved in the Mexican League Soccer and at the same time, are compared with trends of action of the goalkeepers of the 2nd and 3rd Division Mexico. The results show no significant differences in action tendencies of goalkeepers from each division and confirmed the earlier work of Bar-Eli team where, although the greater likelihood that a goalie to stop a penalty is to stay at the center, the action which tend to do is to jump right or left, which is against the principle of inaction, in this case, which gives a greater chance of success.
