Abstract

This paper is addressed to discuss the concepts of measurement and information recollection in the Sport Psychology. First, we outline the historical pathway of this topic, and then we discuss the concepts of reliability and validity respect to the specific requirements in this scientific field. Secondly, we show three critical examples for the classical concept of measurement: 1) the actigraphy, an objetive method for to record the body’s motor activity; 2) An analogic questionnaire addressed to study and monitorize the activity, rest and sleep patterns of the sportists, related to their performance; and 3) a device designed for to self-record emotions during the physical or sportive activity. Lastly, we present several conclusions, and we discuss further and possible developments in the field of the measurement in the Physical Activity and Sport Psychology.
