La pièce oubliée d ́Ahmadou Kourouma: "Le diseur de vérité" d ́après une analyse postcoloniale

Abstract

This article analyses from a post-colonialist view the theater play entitled Le diseur de vérité de Ahmadou Kourouma. After a brief foreword (or intro) the article develops four key points: the Malinke tradition, the oral culture, the social complaints and the identity. The Malinke tradition is analyzed through the different social classes and the characters that represent each of them. (tyrant Diarra, princess Tiédjouma, griot Djéliba and lunatic Fadahan). Besides, the African oral literature influence appears in the mixing of literature genres such as the legend and the theater. The social complaints express a strong critic against colonialism and particularly against the dictatorship regimes that arose during the African independent era. To summarize this article, we could say that the notion of literature identity captures the soul of the play.
