Abstract

The newer trends in tourism that centre more on the natural environment are proving to be a driving force for sustainable development. The main issue for the future of this sector is the need for legislation to ensure the conservation of our natural surroundings, to protect users from the risks inherent to sports activities and to enable the consolidation of a basic business structure.

For these reasons, it is essential for public organisms to formulate a global policy for these rural areas in which tourism concerns are on a par with land use and zoning considerations and natural tourism hence can be awarded the significance it deserves.
