Abstract

In this article I focus on one of the most celebrated satires of the English Literature of the Restoration, Satyrs upon the Jesuits, while laying the stress on the poet’s approach to the so called ‘Popish plot’; the original poem that consists of 350 lines in ‘heroic couplets’, is translated into Spanish in Alexandrines, this being the most suitable equivalent for the content of this type of stanza.
