Abstract

In this paper we will try to account for new lexical units production and comprehension from a psycholinguistic point of view. With that purpose, we will apply the basic principles of the main communicative models, so far based only in research on familiar lexical units, as well as data from experimental studies about the psychological and biological basis of lexical items coding and decoding. Our claims will be illustrated through the analysis of some neologisms reported in our corpus.
