Procedimientos trópicos en la neología semántica: sistematicidad y creatividad
Abstract
Semantic neology has been defi ned without wholly establishing a full description of the procedures of semantic change we find in the neologism typologies. The creativity underlying these procedures, as well as the contextual activation of a new neological meaning, make it diffi cult to propose regularities in this fi eld of lexical innovation. After revising some proposals that show the existence of certain rules in semantic neology, we focus on metonymy, showing the relative sistematicity of this procedure. By doing so, we aim to contribute to the necessary revision of the procedures dealing with semantic neology, in order to improve the detection and analysis of semantic neologisms.Downloads
