LAS ALTERACIONES DE LA COMUNICACIÓN
Abstract
One of the most interesting aspects of the linguistic communication process is related precisely to the problems that emerge from the interaction between two speakers, even when they share the same code. Since the devolopment of Shannon and Weaver´s Theory of Communication, studies in this area have pointed out the difficulties that prevent the smooth flow of information in communicative processes. As a result, attention is gradually shifting towards factors that go beyond the process itself. More specifically, the use of languaje for the construction of our relations with the environment is of utmost importance. In this paper, some of these psycho-social-linguistic factors are considered from the perspective of perception and cognition. The starting point is the building of individuality and its subsequent diversity, which shapes the social and cultural mass. The paper states that the cognitive foundation of languaje must be accompanied by observations regarding the linguistic foundation of cognition. In this way, we can observe how and to what extent, linguistic utterances may contribute to the building of cognitive schemata. Finally, the paper briefly deals with categorization at perceptual and conceptual levels, i.e. concept formation and its linguistic formulation, and tries to show the relation between perception and thought.Downloads
