The formation of the Spanish Renaissance Architectural lexicon

Abstract

The Sixteenth Century brought about a cultural, social and ideological revolution that concerned to all spheres of European society, and, in that awareness of change, we must understand the Ranaissance architecture, which experiences an artistic and scientific renovation, with the revival of Graeco-Latin sources. An architectonic literature, in Romance language, is originated in the Renaissance, when Vitruvio ́s text is revived and with the translations and new texts created after the Vituvian text ́s understading, that will influence in the building of a technical lexicon that designate the new artistic realities and ideas in the Renaissance.
