Abstract

This article is framed within Corpus Léxico de Inventarios (CorLexIn) (Lexical Corpus of Inventories) – a corpus which has been under construction for a few years now, and for which the basic source are lists of personal assets, mainly from the 17th century. In this particular paper, we focus on arabisms with deficient historical attestation, due to one of the following reasons: some are attested only in late sources (alfarje, andaraje, alpechinera, alcayata); others are either no longer used in the literary texts that are the sources of more conventional corpora (almofía, alfamar, alhamar), or are just missing from other corpora (albanegueta, aljábana, albornía, almadraqueta, celemí); finally the geographical provenance of other terms (robo, altamía, almocela) must be determined in order to explain their modern meanings and uses.
