Protesta y Sobrevive. La censura de libros como práctica cotidiana en las bibliotecas estadounidenses durante la Guerra Fría:1960-1969
Resumen
En el contexto de la Guerra Fría, determinados libros formaron parte del debate y la confrontación de ideas. Esto llevó a que el bloque comunista y capitalista, lanzarán una cruzada para censurar libros que consideraban o que podían contaminar la mente de sus ciudadanos.La intención de este artículo es examinar el papel que tuvo el personal bibliotecario, así como las bibliotecas públicas y escolares en los Estados Unidos en el desarrollo de la censura de libros durante la década de los años 60. Por último, se muestra cómo las bibliotecas públicas estadounidenses fueron el escenario de las protestas por los derechos civiles en Estados Unidos.
