Abstract

This article is an approach to the work of the American photographer and filmmaker Larry Clark, from his early work in both mediums, respectively. The two works that are discussed in the article are the photography book Tulsa (1962-1971) and the film Kids (1995). From the beginning his works have openly addressed to violence, sex and consumption of toxic substances among adolescents. These two works are crucial to understanding how Clark describes the adolescence and the subsequent development of other works, as far as Tulsa and Kids act as bases from which growth other no less interesting projects.
