Ethical Code

The journal Myrtia adheres to the COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and is based on the Principles of Transparency and Best Practices in Scholarly Publishing by COPE, DOAJ, OASPA, and WAME to establish the criteria for transparency and good practices that guide its editorial work.

Journal Name

Myrtia is the distinctive name by which our publication is identified. It is an original name, recognizable by the academic community, that does not cause confusion with other journals.

Website

The official portal of Myrtia focuses on reflecting the editorial work carried out to select, evaluate, and publish manuscripts with the highest possible academic quality. The journal's thematic interest is indicated, avoiding any information that may mislead readers and authors. Additionally, the printed and electronic ISSN are clearly displayed.

Publication Schedule

Myrtia clearly informs about the periodicity of its publication, which is carried out under the modality defined by the editorial team.

Copyright and Licenses

The copyright policy is clearly explained in the guidelines for authors and in the About the Journal section of Myrtia. It specifies who holds the copyright and establishes that authors can deposit the final accepted versions or copies of their articles in third-party repositories, in accordance with the principles of Open Science.

Archiving

The journal Myrtia is hosted in the institutional repository DIGITUM for digital preservation purposes.

Ownership and Management

The ownership of the economic rights of the published content belongs to the Publications Service of the University of Murcia, as indicated in the Submissions section of the journal's website.

Procedure for Alleged Misconduct

The editorial team of Myrtia reserves the right to take necessary measures to prevent and detect research misconduct (plagiarism, citation manipulation, falsification or fabrication of data, and misuse of Artificial Intelligence, among others). If an accusation of misconduct in a published article is known, COPE guidelines will be followed to determine the appropriate actions, which could include rejecting manuscripts or retracting already published articles.

Peer Review Process

Myrtia employs a double-blind peer review system. Each manuscript is evaluated by two reviewers, ensuring the anonymity of both authors and reviewers.

Access

All content in Myrtia is offered free of charge and without restrictions, allowing universal access to the academic production it disseminates.

Governing Body

Myrtia has an editorial team composed of the Director, the Secretariat, the Editorial Committee, and the Advisory Committee, made up of national and international specialists of recognized trajectory in the disciplines addressed by the journal. Gender equity and diversity are promoted in the composition of these bodies, whose members (with their full names and affiliations) are publicly presented in the Editorial Team section.

Fees for Authors

Myrtia is an open-access journal that does not charge fees to authors for the submission or publication of their works. No fees are charged to readers either, aligning with the philosophy of Open Science.

Sources of Income

The journal has no external funding. The journal's website is provided by the Publications Service of the University of Murcia.

Advertising and Dissemination

Myrtia announces calls and the closure of its issues on its website and also disseminates its articles through social media and other communication channels to increase the visibility of the published works.
