Abstract

In this paper we evaluate the "homeric question" as it is presented in the five authors of Greek literature handbooks published in Spain during XIXth century. In this works it is under discussion the existence of Homer, the authorship of Iliad and Odissey, the unity of each of them, the homeric aesthetic, the comparision of Homer to Virgile and the didactic value of homeric poems.
