Abstract

In this second paper, in which we continue our study on the hexameter of Dionysus Periegetes and the role it plays within the development of the Greek hexameter, we focus on another set of metric questions, as the caesuras and the zeugmata. Furthermore, we emphasize a number of features relating to the end of the hexameter, and we deal with several facts concerning prosody, specifically elision, crasis, sinecesis, correptio epica, hiatus and vowel- lengthening.
