Abstract

The similarities shared by the works of Diodorus and Livy on a moral level, which provide a universal perspective, address an audience different from the usual one for ancient historiography. This is also indicative of the way in which these works were published. The comparison of the two historians may help clarify the audience of Diodorus, usually considered as undefined.
