Abstract

Pinciano’s Philosophia Antigua Poetica constitutes a major break among the aristotelic’s renaissance inspiration theoretical essays. His aristotelic guidance allows Pinciano to overcome the inmediate medieval past and get closer to the new ideas of Renaissance. The latter is performed in a very particular way: the public action as an individual. “Physis”, “catarsis” and other aristotelic concepts are messed up with medieval thoughts, as “nobility”, to develop a complete and different landscape: the new renaissance “virtue” and the extremely important poetics role in the upcoming Modern State.
