PLATEROS MURCIANOS DEL SIGLO XIX
Abstract
As a chronologic continuation of my previous work: Silversmiths of Murcia in the Land Registry of Marqués de la Esenada (1756) and Silversmiths of Murcia in the General Recruitment of 1809, both published in the magazine IMAFRONTE (1994 and l995), I am now submitting, as another contribution to the complete study of this Tradem the Silversmiths registered on the Municipal Census of l850, carried out of collectiny "Taxes, for Roads Construction ". Unlike the previus one, it reports on complete, families. incluiding even servants, which makes it more complete and a attractive. A slight industrialization of the Trade, as well as a commercializacion of it is noticeable; the novelties of Diamond jewellers and Clockmakers appear among some of the Masters reported on here. It is worthy of note how the Census indicates the last members of the old Silversmiths, families, which had nearly died out; meanwhile others appear, whose work life will arive to the beginning of the next century, as an inexorable law of life.Downloads
