UNA REVISIÓN DE OBRAS DEL CÍRCULO DE JUNI
Abstract
During the mid sixteenth century the city of León saw the establishment of a group of sculptors an engravers, mainly of French origin, who were to satisfy the artistic needs of the most important buildings in the city and its diocese. Some were to stay for a more or less long period of time, moving to other geographical areas, others such as Juan de Angés el Viejo would establish themselves and remain in the city until their deaths. The French and Burgundy influence and essentially the vork of Juni would become fundamental to be able to understand this type of manifestation. This study analyses a series of sculptural works which, within the influence of Juni, were undertaken by Juan de Angés and his school, refusing the pretended inclusion of Juni in some of them. and at the same time includes others of this circle which remained forgotten.Downloads
