EL ÓRGANO DE SANTIAGO DE ORIHUELA: UN TRANSPARENTE SONORO. NUEVAS APORTACIONES SOBRE LA FAMILIA CASTELL
Abstract
This instrument is one of the most intercesting examples of the Eastern Spanish organ making of all times, dueto, the symbolic and dramatic message that its construction meant during thc three-year pecriod 1745-47. Its machine, built by the organ-maker Joseph Rocamora, is enclosed in one of thc best works made with his own design by the wood-carver Ignacio Castell which was gilt by Juan Francisco Santacruz , from Orihuela (Alicante). Castell conceived an organ to be attached onto the south wall of the church, with its top oval dramatically framing a round window already opened towards the outsidce.Downloads
