TANGIBLE E INTANGIBLE. REFLEXIONES ACERCA DE LA CULTURA DEL AGUA Y EL PATRIMONIO DE LA HUMANIDAD EN ELCHE
Abstract
Nowadays, understanding the nature of the relationship between tangible and intangible heritage constitutes a major issue in the field of cultural heritage. Elche is the only Spanish city with both a tangible property inscribed in the World Heritage List, the Palmeral, Elche's oasis, a cultural landscape inhented from al-Andalus, and a form of cultural expression proclaimed a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity, the Mistery Play, a medieval sacred musical drama of the death, assumption and crowning of the Virgin Mary. The article states the relevante of the culture of water as a matrix of tangible and intangible heritage, on the basis of Elche's case study.Downloads
