<i>ARCAS DE PRODIGIOS</i> ( A PROPÓSITO DE TRES RELICARIOS DE PLATA DE LA CATEDRAL DE MURCIA)
Abstract
This paper has studied the collection of silver reliquaries which are conserved in the Cathedral of'Murcia. Three of these have been analysed: the Lignum Crucis, the Virgin's Milk and the reliquary dorrated by Cardinal Belluga. All of these demonstrate the diversity of types and designs that were prevalent in Spain during the XVII and XVIII centuries. The high quality of the craftsmanship of the silversmiths must be emphasised. two of these reliquaries are the work of highly-skilled murcian artist whilst the third is an outstanding example of court silveware dating from the first third of the XVIII century.Downloads
