The Natural, Social and Cultural Science Curriculum in Primary Education
Abstract
In this article we have analysed the curriculum for the area of Natural, Social and Cultural Sciences, which is described in the official regulation “Reforma LOE (MEC, 2006)”. We focused on one new element, the competences, but we also identify modifications and changes regarding to the objectives, contents and assessment criteria, taking into account its suitability for the recent trends of the Teaching of Experimental and Social Sciences. We even analysed one particular case, Murcia, in order to check how that region has completed the national curriculum.
We can appreciate how, using two much the educational legislative competences, it has deviated from the original outlines.
