Presence of the state, education system structure and economic model. Three points of support for comparative research
Abstract
This article is the synthesis of a piece of research undertaken for the aim of comparing the proposals of Middle Schools (MS) 1969-1972, and the Third General Basic Cycle Schools (GBC3) 1995-2004 as they were implemented at a high school belonging to San Isidro, province of Buenos Aires. The main idea was to provide elements leading to the conclusion that the two systems were similar and responded to each of the prevailing models proposed in the country during those two periods (Developmentalism and Neoliberalism). It is worth clarifying that in this comparative research the main difficulty came from the originality of the topic.
From the common features of the two structures, the main similarities and differences
were summarised in a chart, broadly concluding that both proposals lived in communion with the corresponding economic/social situations and the political needs of the time.
