Parents and Students when it Comes to Responsibility
Abstract
This article makes a brief description about the transmission –specifi cally, the transmission of values- and the agents more immediately implicated: family and school. It also evaluates the suitable conditions –affection, dialogue, welcoming attitudeand the guidelines –objectives, motivation, rules, order, management of their free time- neccesary for the transmission of values. Through a qualitative method, and according to the results of interviews with parents and students, the investigation studies the top values from parents’ point of view. One of them is responsibility: his meaning and his appropriation, based on experience. It concludes what parents and their children have a different perception of the value of responsibility. The transmission of values is so much important what a serie of proposals is showing to improve the parental transmission of values to their children: learning and training to get married, parents guidance, instruction for teachers concerning parents guidance, further implication family-school, etc.Downloads
