Brain drain and crisis in Spain: young people as target of business speeches
Abstract
This article discusses the phenomenon of brain drain in the context of the current Spanish crisis. This jailbreak process is a good analyzer of the youth question. It involves a new dimension of insecurity, stronger than the one already experienced by young people in Spain. The new precarity dimension is known as the extended skilled migration. In the article, we review the data from the main statistical sources approaching the issue and examine three dimensions of this draining phase: media, policies and business. We focus on the latter aspect since the hypothesis states that the leak has to be interpreted in the context of business discourses on talent mobility. These talks aim at the activation of skilled graduated labor. As evidence for this hypothesis, publications from the business field are analyzed.Downloads
