TECHNOLOGICAL CHANGE, EMPLOYMENT ANO UNEMPLOYMENT
Abstract
This paper analyses the relationship between technological change and employment. Firstly, the paper shows the low elasticity of substitution between skilled and unskilled employment. Secondly, this paper review the complementarity that exist between skilled employment and capital as opposed to the high substitution what appear between unskilled employment and capital. One that the relevance of the qualification of the worker is stated to see the response to the technical change, the paper reviews the importance of training of the labour force to adequate the supply to the demand of labour. Finally, the main problems of planning of training are studied in order to see how training can be helpful to reduce the mismatch between supply and demand of labour.
