MYOPATHIA BY INTRAARTICULAR INFILTRATION OF DEXAMETASONE IN DOG: HISTOLOGICAL, HISTOCHEMICAL AND MORPHOMETRIC STUDY
Abstract
The experimental myopathia induced in Extensor digitorum longus and Flexor digitonrum superficialis muscles of the pelvic limb of adullt dogs by intraarticular infiltration with dexametasone was analyzed and quantified by means of histological morphometric and histochemical techniqes. Morphologic alterations are similar to those miositis, whereas morphometric ones result in fibrillar populations of extreme sizes mostly atrophic. Alterations are more frequent in the extensor muscle. The quantity of drug did not represent an important role in the injury.Downloads
