Abstract

The competence that characterizes the learning of foreign languages is communicative compe-tence. This competence allows the user to act adequately in a situation of communication using certain language recourses. The CEFR distinguishes three components within communicative competence: linguistic competence, sociolinguistic and pragmatic. Linguistic competence is formed by the lexical competence, grammatical and phonological. To assimilate and acquire that content, essential for communication, students must use certain learning strategies. These strategies are an autonomous work outside the classroom. We want to know the strategies used by a group of university students in FFL for learning these competences.
