Author Guidelines

Manuscripts should not exceed 50,000 characters. Once received, they will be sent to two referees for review. From the moment that the article is published in this journal, Anales will hold the copyright of any contribution. Authors warrant that their contributions are original and have neither been submitted for publication, nor have been published elsewhere. Book reviews and translations of works of special interest will also be accepted.

Contributions must include in their first page the title, authors’ names and affiliation, email, and addresses for correspondence. They also must include an abstract of up to 150 words and keywords, both in English and Spanish. Whenever possible, original works should conform to the standard scientific writing IMRAD structure, i.e. they must have an introduction (including contextualisation and purpose (-s); a description of sources, materials and methods used; an account of the main results achieved; discussion, conclusion and reference sections.

Figures and tables must be presented separately from the main text, in a different file or page, and they must include a reference of their exact location within the main text. They must be numbered and should include a brief explanatory foot. Tables should be numbered with Roman numerals, figures with Arabic ones.

Notes should be numbered and placed at the end, after the main text.

Quotations in the main text should follow the author-date-page system (i.e.: González Belmonte, 2005, p. 7). For works by the same author and same date, letters should be added to the latter and subsequent works: Penny, 2004 (for the first work quoted), Penny 2004b and so on. References should follow the ISO standards ISO 690-1 or ISO 690-2.
