Abstract

The article that we sense beforehand, forms a part of a demographic study on the Spanish-American population bought property in the city of Cadiz between 1773 and 1840, period later to the Decree of Free Trade in the Peninsula. Concretely, for this work, we have centred on the analysis of the population slave proceeding from Spanish America who was located in the city between the mentioned dates. For it, we have used as documentary excellent source, the polls and censuses that you work in the Municipal File of Cadiz, attending to information as the geographical nature, the age, marital status, sex and urban development distribution. With all this, we try to offer a personalized vision of the above mentioned sector of the population, beyond the statistics and the numerical percentages, inviting to know this way the most human side of this community.
