About the Journal
Focus and scope
The electronic journal Naveg@mérica is a biannual scientific publication of the Spanish Association of Americanists (AEA), edited by it with the technical support of the Publications Service of the University of Murcia. AEA is a non-profit organization, founded in 1982, that brings together scholars and researchers to promote Americanist scientific and cultural activities in the different branches of Social Sciences and Humanities. It is the desire to improve what moves us to create and offer our associates, and the rest of the scientific community, both nationally and internationally, a tool that can be useful for the development and dissemination of work in the field of Americanism. . We chose to do it through an exclusively virtual journal, the first in Spain, open to the reception of works written in other usual languages in the American continent besides Spanish, that is, English, Italian, French and Portuguese.
Naveg@mérica sets a series of rules and consists of an editorial committee made up of members of the AEA. The works received are evaluated by referees, historians and other researchers from the social sciences, accredited by their commitment to the production of reflective knowledge and who make up the advisory committee. The objective is to promote disciplinary and interdisciplinary debates; publish basic research built on first-hand sources; and disseminate the results of historiographical studies. To do this, Naveg@mérica has four sections:
- ARTICLES, with original and unpublished works on topics of Americanist interest.
- RESEARCH EXPERIENCES, with works by authors who are consolidating their research career, and here you can find a space for the dissemination of their results.
- AMERICANIST DOCUMENTATION on sources, methods and tools to support research.
- BIBLIOGRAPHICAL REVIEWS and critical comments on recently published works.
Naveg@mérica DOES NOT CHARGE fees for submission of works, nor fees for the publication of your articles.
