Abstract

This is a work on the study of Terence's output made by Juan de Fonseca y Figueroa. Thanks to it, we can reproach a comment on Terence's Andria, which can be found manuscript in the "Biblioteca Colombina". There are some Notae made by Fonseca before 1606. It is analysed how the humanist has used Terence so as to explain the poet's work. Some of the main points of the Terence's style are explained, as well as metaphors and other diction figures, the argument about some lectiones and some of the léxica. There also conclusions about how this humanist from Hispalis dealt with the comment on Terence's work and how he used the poet's parallelisms to explain Andria.
