Abstract

Restoration works undertaken in the middle of the last decade at Cornatel castle resulted in two archaeological interventions carried out between 2004 and 2005. During the latter some metal artifacts were recovered. Although there were not a great amount of them, some significant ob- jects were found (dated from the late 15th to the early 16th centuries), which are those that have motivated this study.

In this paper it has been made a typological and functional classification of said objects, which have been related to different aspects of daily life. This study intends to give metal artifacts the place they deserve within archaeological research on material culture.
