Abstract
Dimitri Tiomkin was a key composer of the classic Western, turning point in the history of the Western film music as well as of the film music in general. His work for the Western genre has a big personality. The music for landscape, an essential Western cliché, is one of the most original. Far from previous and contemporary influences, this facet of his music is placed as a special chapter of his Western music.
