El Centro Cultural Museo Hidráulico Los Molinos del Río Segura: un testimonio de la historia de Murcia
Abstract
The preservation of the archaeological industrial heritage, particularly architectural buildings, has raised the need to propose new uses for their proper preservation in the last decades. From this point of view, the redesigning of old industrial buildings into museums has been one of the most interesting experiences.
In this paper, we will analyse in depth the reuse of one Spanish example: the Cultural Centre Hydro-electric Museum LosMolinos del Río Segura in Murcia. This study is based arround three main axes: the building history, the new usage of the industrialspace like a museum and their function as cultural institution.
