Abstract
Ningún estudioso pone en duda que Julio Herrera y Reissig, ese uruguayo cansado del aire irrespirable de su ciudad, se dedicó al culto de la palabra. Más discutible ha sido considerarle un virtuoso de la métrica y el ritmo. En este sentido las opiniones son dispares si atendemos a los estudios de Henríquez Ureña, Domínguez Caparrós o Pérez y Curis. Nadie duda de que Herrera y Reissig sea un poeta aunque sí se ha cuestionado su papel como creador.Downloads
