Abstract

This article aims to set the foundations for a possible dialogue between a certain reading of Marx and Karl Polanyi’s work. This requires, first of all, to isolate the reasons that led Polanyi to harshly criticize the marxist approach. Secondly, it requires to check if another possible reading of Marx would escape this criticism by introducing the debate into a more interesting question. Our aim is to counteract the current trend which insert Polanyi's work in a new reactionary thought.
