THE SPANISH PUBLIC SYSTEM OF PROTECTION OF UNEMPLOYED
Abstract
This paper reviews the characteristic of the Spanish public system of protection of unemployed. After a brief review of the evolution and the current legal situation of unemployment insurance, the author studies the relevance of the amount of money which is paid in each case and the percentage of the unemployeds who are paid by the unemployment insurance. Other characteristic of the system are analysed: economic sector where the current jobless were working, family conditions of the unemployed and so on. Finally, the paper reviews the contribution which are available in the economic literature about how unemployment insurance affects the exit of the unemployement.
