Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the rural Castilian reactions in relation with the Expulsion of the Moriscos. We have paid special attention to the behavior of a specific social group: the political and economic oligarchy, which with no doubt, was the most profitable with the Expulsion, especially in relation with the Moriscos’ real estate. In this background, we have used a concept of Expulsion that extends beyond 1614.
