Tourists and migrants into the resort´s planet: spatial mobility of people like a capital in the new dynamics of inequality
Abstract
Mobility of tourists and mobility of migrants are two forces of integration and fragmentation on the restructuring of localities. In this article, its call on scholars who study the departure, settlement, and transnational incorporation of migrants to theorize locality. Also, its analyze the mobility of people like a capital in the new dynamics of inequality. Like Saskia Sassen (1998: 148) says “the new urban economy not only strengthens existing inequalities but sets in motion a whole series of new dynamics of inequality”. Tourists and migrant workers are two faces of the new polarization into the global societies.Downloads
