From Primo de Rivera´s dictatorship to the development plans: The difficult modernization of fishing in the Atlantic Andalusia

Abstract

The article looks into the complex and changing course of development of the fishing industry in the Atlantic Andalusia between 1920 and 1975. For this we have studied the evolution of the main fishing havours in the region (Huelva, Cadiz and Huelva's west coast) in such aspects as size of fish seizures, technical resources used, the entreprenurial quality factor, etc.
