The annual series of valencian baptisms, 1646-1899

Abstract

Twelve annual statistics of the baptisms are calculated taken place between 1646 and 1899 in the País Valencià (historical territory) except for the city of València. A general one, one of the small nuclei and another of the cities, one for each one of the three provinces, one of the rural area and another of the urban one of each one of this territories. A methodology is used that allows the maximum use of the emptied sacramental series (182 parishes) and of the counted registries (2.267.710). The results are analysed, comparing them to each other and relating them with what is known of the Valencian historical demography.
