Abstract

This article focuses on initiatives that have been made in the preservation and enhancement of mining heritage. We must consider the specific characteristics of this legacy, which provides singular remains, landscape changes and broader land occupation. It highlights the recent interest in this topic and the difficulties in dealing with coherent policies for action in this field. Policies that should integrate interests of several groups in these remains and the surrounding population.
