EXPERIMENTAL CRONIC LACK OF ZINC IN SHEEP: HISTOPATHOLOGY AND C1INICAL SIGNS
Abstract
An experimental chronic lack of zinc in sheep feed with semisynthetic diet content 20 ppm of zinc has been studied. From the 15th week it is observed a diminution in the intaking of food and it appears cheilitis, gingivitis, depilations around the mouth and loss of teeth. In the metatarsus takes place depilations with petechias and a sligthly cracked skin. The lacking animals lost weigth up to 11% of that of the 9th, week, and the first deaths occur at the end of the 29th, week.Downloads
