Abstract

An experimental chronic lack of zinc in sheep feed with semisynthetic diet content 20 ppm of zinc has been studied. From the 15th week it is observed a diminution in the intaking of food and it appears cheilitis, gingivitis, depilations around the mouth and loss of teeth. In the metatarsus takes place depilations with petechias and a sligthly cracked skin. The lacking animals lost weigth up to 11% of that of the 9th, week, and the first deaths occur at the end of the 29th, week.
