LEPTOSPIRA AND BRUCELLA IN EQUINES AND HUMAN LINKED TO ANIMAL TRACTION VEHICLE
Abstract
The provincial center of hygiene and epidemiology togather wdh the provincial management staff of veterinary medicine set up a serological study for detecting leptospirosis and brucelosis in echinus and human beings who are somehow related yo animal drawn vehicles in the Cuban province of Ciego de Ávila. Two samples of echínus leptospirosis were investigaled by the technique of microagglutination lisis and brucelosis wfth monoserum by the techniques of slow serum agglutination, reaction of Fmation of complements and mercaptoctanol 290 animales were found to be positively interpretated by serology lo Leptospira and 7 lo Bruccella. Human beings were tested for leptospirosis by hemolitic tests and slow serum agglutination and the complement fixing test for brucelosis. 3.2% of the tested human beings showed to have antileptospira antibodies, while 0.3% showed to have Brucella antíbodies, concluding thus, that they are risk groups in the mentioned entities. His remarked in thís paper the need to continue renewing the health card yearly and to dupen into the role of echinus related to animal drawn vehicies in the epidemiological chain of leptospirosis and brucelosis.Downloads
